The Age Regression Experiment (TARE) Empty
PostSubject: The Age Regression Experiment (TARE)   The Age Regression Experiment (TARE) EmptySat 23 Sep - 15:16

Random idea I had was kinda simple and a bit clique, but it could be quite strong.

The Age Regression Experiment relies heavily on The Matrix for it's ideas and format, if you haven't seen The Matrix then go try see the first one and then ignore the rest or try and bleach the horrible memories from your mind at least...

The setup;

The world of The Age Regression Experiment (TARE) is set up into various factions and groups, the main group is the mundanes people plugged in still to TARE unaware of the world outside or the reality of the situation.

Outside you have "Meats" outside TARE the world is most populated by furries, those inside TARE don't realise they aren't 100% human and are some kind of morph, but a few are more in touch with their animal side.
"Meats" can't get into TARE and have to deal with those that were in TARE and have been taken out, these people are called;
"Morphs" who were once in TARE and have been taken back to the real world, "Morphs" when plugged back in look like the animal they are in the real world, Mundanes will only get a glimpse of this and normally think it's a fake tail, or false ears.
"Morphs" are able to break the reality of TARE, doing things that mundanes simple can't jumping higher, running faster, yes dodging bullets even but at a cost, everytime they do something like this they break down slightly, getting younger and loosing control of bladder/bowels in some extreme cases of breaking reality worse things can happen (sissying, diaper dependance, etc) this carries across into outside TARE, they don't get younger but they will act it if regressed enogth.

Set against the Morphs are two major groups

"ARgents" like Agents from The Matrix "ARgents" in TARE carry weapons that are able to regress "Morphs" and cause all sorts of other effects that again can carry across in the real world, most of the effects the weapons cause are to make the "Morphs" useless as agents are freeing mundanes that are starting to realise something is wrong with the world.
"ARgents" look very much like the atypical man in black they take orders from;
"Programmers", Not all mundanes want to be freed, some like being in TARE and thus work with the computer simulation to keep reality together as best as possible, they believe that many of those in TARE would not be able to cope with being a "Morph" in the world outside and estimate about 70% of those in TARE would go insane and start randomly killing and destroying things, this combined with the critical lack of space, energy and resources in the real world mean prorgammers try to keep all the mundanes they can in TARE.
Programmers have abilities much like Morphs, again with the same effects, however as Programmers are able to directly effect TARE these age regression effects are usually only short term.

The breakdown

Currently there's at least four teams of Morphs in the real world, they will be trying to free those mundanes that are starting to figure out the reason furries are so popular is because of the influence from the real world.
Morphs have both a real world description which is what they look like in the real world as a furry and a TARE description which is what they look like inside TARE, they retain a few of their furry qualities as well as any AR things that have affected them during their time saving people from TARE.
AR effects have lingering real world effects (if you become regressed in TARE you believe you are regressed in the real world) and permanent effects in TARE (if you are made 2 years younger in TARE it will have little effect in the real world but you'll be 2 years younger every time you re-enter TARE)

Morphs sometimes work together amongst groups but there's a degree of friendly rilvary between the groups, often same species hang out together on similar vessels in the real world.

ARgents will mostly be non-player characters they are after all quite boring and are just used for plot purposes.

Programmers are quite rare, there's only 3 or maybe 4 in TARE, they have slight furry qualities also but have a sinister quality, it's possible a programmer could try and infiltate a Morph group but this would be hard unless the Morph group were in TARE for an extended time.
Programmers have only one description of what they look like in TARE, they are able to alter TARE to a much greater degree then Morphs but the consequence are more severe, however they can also alter themselves so with time and practice most AR elements can be overcome or reduced.

The current situation

A group of morphs has uncovered that there's a problem with TARE, it's starting to organise the mundanes so that they dislike furries, so much that anyone currently rescued from TARE is a liability and very dangerous.
The programmers are not quite sure why this is happening, it's nice and they like it as it increases stability in TARE but as they are furry themselves it's also not that good news so they are looking for the reason behind this problem.

The ARgents are onimously very low key, just following and tailing Morphs, not entering combat even if fired upon first.

More worryingly still, Morphs coming into TARE are starting to regress for no reason, starting to get younger, loosing control and all without using any reality breaking abilities.

The roleplay starts with several groups of Morphs being invited by the programmers to a neutral ground, fortified to prevent regression to discuss the current situation and the best way to resolve it.

Rules

Firstly you gotta post a character description of what you wanna be, you'll get an okay/no way (with feedback) on that description.

Then you're free to join in, it's possible to join in any time, you'll appear in a burst of TARE code at a hardwired point, unlike The Matrix there are a lot of hardwired point so joining in later in the game isn't that hard.

Posts can be in three ways

In Character - Standard in character posts are posted as normal

Out of Character - Anything out of character put in Italics, this is useful for any background information or any TARE breaking powers you want to use

Real World - Real World are posted in Quotes, this is what is happening in the world outside TARE.
